As the nights begin to shorten in the Northern Hemisphere, South America springtime is just beginning. For those in the know, this is a perfect time to visit owing to warmer temperatures, fewer crowds and a greater chance of spotting wildlife. We share our top reasons to join us on a thrilling riding adventure below, but don't just take our word for it, click here to see what our clients this year think: https://www.rideandes.com/post/exceptional-horse-riding-experiences-in-the-andes-2021-guest-reviews
1) Quite simply, we’re the experts and have been for 25 years
Based locally in Ecuador, we’re proud to be South America’s leading horse riding specialist. And, with 25 years experience of designing, operating and guiding horseback riding tours, our expertise and knowledge of the continent and horses is second to none.
2) Health and safety is a top priority – of riders & horses
The health and safety of our guests and that of our horses is paramount. We take great care matching the right horse and route for each rider. The happiness and health of the horses are at the heart of our planning.
3) The vast majority of our tours in each destination are unique to us
We’re passionate, dedicated and 100% hands on. Our aim is to create exceptional and unique experiences as well as long-lasting memories. For example, we are the only company to offer hacienda to hacienda riding journeys in the Ecuadorian Andes; we were the first to offer tours in Uruguay riding between estancias and we opened up our own route in Brazil’s Pantanal - unusually, journeying on through these wetlands instead of staying put in one place.
4) There’s something for everyone and nothing we can’t do
With a broad range of private and group riding adventures in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador and Uruguay and with routes and horses to suit every riding level, we’re able to offer trips for all – from experts to beginners.
We can also include a variety of activities for non-riding companions so whether you’re a nature-lover, a passionate photographer or prefer to hike, or just chill everyone can come along.
5) An exceptional team
Crucially, our team of experienced English-speaking guides and caring charismatic local horsemen are committed, enthusiastic and hugely knowledgeable. Their passion for the culture of South America and their love of horses means they are always happy to go the extra mile.
6) We enable responsible travel and participation in community & conservation projects.
We are committed to working sustainably. We work tirelessly to maximise the benefits created by tourism ensuring we (thanks to you) give back to the local communities and local ecosystems. We also support local charities and conservation projects.
Our latest project in Ecuador is effective protection practices of the Andean Spectacled bear.
We sponsor vets and farriers to give talks on horse care and hoof care; for dogs, we arrange sterilisation and vaccination ‘bring your dog’ days in communities.
Repurposing, up cycling, sustainability and conservation are not just buzz words to us, it’s what we’ve been doing for decades.
