We are no longer updating this page regularly.

The Covid situation and each nation’s regulations continue to evolve, so may well change by the time you begin your trip. Please do check regularly on the official government website of the country/countries that you are planning to visit, with the airline you intend to travel with as well as your own government’s travel advice centre before booking a holiday.

We strongly advise you to buy a flexible flight ticket as you can, to purchase trave insurance (travel health insurance including Covid-19 coverage is now mandatory in certain countries) and then to check regularly for any changes made to your flight itinerary and entry regulations.

We are advising guests to, whenever possible, arrive at least a day or two prior to the tour start date.

We do understand the current, more complicated situation, facing those that wish to travel to our far flung destinations so we have put in place helpful and supportive booking conditions, which recognise this situation and make it as safe and secure as possible for you to book directly with Ride Andes.

We have always and will always do an absolute maximum to help out with rebooking and refunding depending on each individual situation.

Before you have to confirm your participation, we will lay out our conditions regarding cancellation/postponement that are in place should it become necessary for you to make changes due to Covid-19. In many cases, we can even allow you to not only switch itinerary but also switch country should a rescheduling become necessary! We do strongly advise you to take out a travel insurance policy.

Each destination has slightly varying booking terms (owing to the in-country arrangements we make to provide each tour). We will inform you of the exact booking conditions and cancellation options at the time of making the reservation.

  • You’ll need to have appropriate travel insurance at the time of booking your holiday, which covers the full duration of your trip in case of cancellation and/or curtailment

  • Your travel insurance needs to provide cover for all the activities and destinations on your travel itinerary

  • Your policy must cover COVID-19 medical expenses as well as cancellation cover. This should include cancellation prior to travel (in case you are required to medically quarantine), curtailment of your trip and any medical expenses whilst abroad. This has now become a pre-requisite in many countries.

Based in Ecuador, Ride Andes has been operating exceptional hand-crafted journeys aboard happy, healthy horses for every budget and riding ability since 1996. We are extremely confident that our guests will be able to enjoy an excellent riding experience with us under very safe conditions. We provide a full-service travel experience; meeting you upon arrival and providing private transfers to secluded lodgings. Many of these hand-picked locations offer our guests exclusivity, otherwise a separate annex or wing. Our accommodation ranges from high-end haciendas to simple yet cosy lodges and all in idyllic locations and complying with national requirements and recommendations regarding COVID-19. From private trips to small group tours, Ride Andes offers equestrian holidays in South America for groups of friends, families and solo travellers. We can even organise activities for non-riding guests.  We work incredibly hard to ensure all of our tours comply with latest recommendations and regulations regarding the prevention of COVID-19 transmission.

Lastly, the health of our guests and workers is paramount and we want to reassure you that we closely monitor developments in all of our destinations.

With the travel situation still in flux, we strongly recommend contacting us for the very latest information regarding tours or to request a copy of our COVID-19 protocols:
