Ride Andes - Tacso (Passiflora Mixta)

Tacso, as it is known in Ecuador, is a plant with large pink flowers that ranges from Venzuela to Bolivia in South America. Even under optimal conditions, germination of the Tacso plant may be erratic, with 30-365 days being the normal range. Tacso is pollinated by the sword-billed hummingbird, which is the only living species in the genus Ensifera. The bird can be found throughout the Andes and can be identified by its extremely long beak, which, in fact, is longer than its body. Its growth is restricted to the highlands, where it grows at elevations between 1,700 to 3,700 metres (5,600 to 12,000 ft).
