RIDE ANDES - The healing properties of Aloe Vera

Aloe Vera is a species of succulent plant that has long been used as an herbal remedy in Latin America as well as China, Japan, Russia, South Africa, the United States, Jamaica and India. Early records of Aloe Vera’s medicinal applications appear in the Ebers Papyrus (16th century BC), both Dioscorides' De Materia Medica and Pliny the Elder's Natural History (mid-first century CE) and the Juliana Anicia Codex (512 AD). Aloe Vera is popular in the cosmetics industry for its rejuvenating, soothing and moisturizing properties. The sap has been used to speed healing for wounds and burns although, scientific evidence has been contradictory, with study results indicating that Aloe Vera both speeds and slows healing.
