How it all started...
In 1996 the coin landed on ‘heads’; heads was Ecuador. After a glorious holiday -completely taken by the country, I left my life in Paris and moved out to Ecuador. Having worked for an historic Hacienda turned into a country hotel and then a new travel company offering tours in several Latin American countries, I set up ‘Ride Andes’.
The idea: use the best possible, healthy & happy horses in each area. Work alongside the fascinating local horsemen and give this dying breed as much work as possible. Hunt out the best routes and most interesting accommodation.
Firstly in the Ecuadorian Andes, then Uruguayan coast, then the Across the Andes ride… I also helped an Irish friend set up Ride Andalucia in Spain.
I hope you can join me !
Many thanks for a wonderful holiday! We loved Ecuador – the people, the scenery and particularly the haciendas and the horses! I have to say that the two horses I had were a pleasure to ride – great fun and yet both fast and ‘secure’! Thanks for your explanation – we are very happy with your calculations! We enjoyed riding with you on your ‘home turf’ and will look forward to riding with you again, sending friends to ride with you or sampling your Andalusian offshoot! Thanks, Paul
